Red gave a great program tonight demonstrating four of his favorite flies while telling about the materials, how to fish them, and stories of their history. Red is a master at teaching others about his passion for fly fishing. Thank you Red for sharing you wealth of knowledge.

CHANGE OF MEETING LOCATION
LOCATION: Canyon Crest, Trailside Rm
DATE: November 17, 2011
TIME: 7:00p.m.
SPEAKER: Red Montgomery
Red Montgomery, now retired, was the owner of the former Snake River Outfitters in Twin Falls. Red’s fly shop was not only the best place to get nearly all a fly fisher might need to pursue his/her sport, but, along with all the equipment and supplies, Red was a fountain of knowledge on what fly to use and where; how to tie the fly; and when to use the fly. His knowledge was not limited just to the Magic Valley but was based on practical experience he gained from fishing throughout the West. But perhaps the best feature of his fly shop was the old cracker barrel atmosphere where tall tales were swapped, politics were cussed and discussed–all over a cup of coffee that was known to melt stirring spoons. Red will put on a fly tying program at our November meeting–don’t miss it!!
